Lets look at some characteristics of Trifari jewelry from the 1930s to '50s.
From 1937 to at least the 1950s, designer First was Trifari Alfred Phillipe. Drawings were popular pin geometric, floral, leaves and berries, animals and people. Colorful rhinestone were clearly established in the complex models or combined with pastel-colored plastic inserts shaped flowers. Many are signed "KTF." Patterns of white plastic, like apples, pears and flowers set in gold-colored metal were very desirable, and multi-colored rhinestone brooches and earrings.
In the 1950's charm bracelets became popular, and Trifari product charms signs of the zodiac. These charms sold for $ 5.00! I had to child care for 10 hours to earn enough for one, plus another 4 hours for the bracelet!
Necklaces Goldtone with colored rhinestones and figured in 1950s, and flowers and leaves were popular configuration. The late '50s saw pieces of plastic and enamel in white and turquoise and pin in sparkling rhinestones in flower, the main forms and crown.
As you can see, there were many many designs of jewelry Trifari down through the years. If you are lucky enough to come across a bit of time to examine it carefully, make sure it is period, and be proud to add to your collection.
